MENTORING

THE NEOIAAA MENTORING PROGRAM

The NEOIAAA is very proud that we have promoted and supported the mentoring of new athletic administrators in the Northeast District for several years.   It is our belief that our profession is always evolving and, even among veteran administrators, we seek continued knowledge and guidance.

Special thanks go out to several of our NEOIAAA members who have been involved with the "match-making" of mentors with new athletic administrators.

  • Phil Stevens, Warrensville Heights HS
  • Barb Salata, Elyria Catholic HS
  • Rich Venuto, Louisville HS
  • Greg Cooper, Canfield HS

We have also supplied each mentor with a list of possible discussion points to insure that the new athletic administrator has direction for the myriad of responsibilities placed on our desks.   Our "match-makers" supply these prompts to each mentor and follows-up with each group periodically.

The goal of the mentoring program is to assist the new or minimal-experienced athletic administrator through the broad spectrum of challenges we know as "A.D. work!".   Every individual in this profession knows the commitment, energy and knowledge necessary to be effective in today's interscholastic environment.   Your willingness to assist another professional to realize this goal is to be commended.
